The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund (HSNJRF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the relief and recovery of the victims of Hurricane Sandy. To date, the Fund has raised over $33.5 million from more than 28,000 donors world-wide.  The Fund is focused primarily on long term recovery for the victims of the disaster, offering grants to support housing recovery, social services, education and mental health initiatives, financial and legal counseling, employment and small business support.

Confident in the capabilities to get their online grant making up and online quickly, HSNJRF selected CyberGrants as their partner to launch their grant program through. Cummings Foundation, a private operating foundation based in Woburn, Massachusetts with more than $1 billion in net assets, recently launched OneWorld Boston as its grant-making affiliate.

In 2011 and 2012 the foundation established a new grant-making affiliation – One World Boston (OWB). Through this grant-making affiliation they award grants of $100,000 each to different organizations mostly based in Middlesex, Essex and Suffolk counties, in Massachusetts.

Outdoor Nation (ON) is the signature initiative and program of The Outdoor Foundation which focuses on funding projects that support increasing outdoor recreation participation in Americans and specifically youth.

For the last two years, Outdoor Nation’s partner, The North Face, has been using CyberGrants to manage The North Face's Explore Fund grant program and based on that very positive experience, we are very pleased to see that Outdoor Nation has decided to join forces with CyberGrants to bring their entire grant making online.

We have slowly but surely filled up our existing space, and we are now bursting at the seams. CyberGrants will soon be doubling its office space, moving to a nearby Andover location. The lease is signed, and moving will be beginning in the next few months.

The NCUA has chosen CyberGrants to handle the twists and turns of their multi-phase grantmaking processes. Initially, we will focus on the Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives.

CyberGrants is in the midst of deploying the Community Development Revolving Loan Program, which supports low-income designated credit unions serving low-income communities with low-interest loans/deposits. This implementation is by no means a simple online grants process. However, our ever-flexible platform will deliver an elegant, convenient, and highly available system that will behave as if it were customized from the ground up, exclusively for NCUA.

Our first user conference is now behind us and we’re already starting to plan for next year! We got lucky with the weather (early April is a little iffy in the northeast) and our hosts at the Boston Harbor Hotel took great care of all of our guests.

Thanks to all of you who came to the event! For those of you who couldn’t make it, we hope to see you next year. Check the user forum for threads related to the conference and be sure to talk with your Account Coordinator to get a video recording of the sessions. We have been overwhelmed by the great feedback we have already received.
