Outdoor Nation
Campus Challenge
Outdoor Nation is excited to announce that registration for the 2017 Campus Challenge is officially open!
This fall, compete against schools across the country for the title of National Outdoor Champion, awesome gear from the top outdoor brands and bragging rights about how outdoorsy your school really is!
We’ve been working hard to create new tools to make this the best Campus Challenge yet. You asked, we listened, and we’ve made a few changes to this year’s Challenge:
More divisions, more prizes, and more ways to win
A live look at how your campus is doing
Incentives for group activities
A shorter competition
More resources to help you recruit your community
More funding for the most dedicated participants
Here’s How It Works
Participating in the Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge is easy.
STEP 1:
Register your school (only takes 3 minutes!) to compete for prizes, gear, cash, and the title of National Outdoor Champion (and bragging rights, of course).
STEP 2:
From Sept. 18 - Oct. 15, encourage your campus network (students, faculty, alumni, and local community) to get outside and log their outdoor activities on Outdoor Nation’s mobile app.
STEP 3:
Throughout the Challenge, use the app to view leaderboards and see where your school stands compared to other outdoor enthusiasts across the country.
The registration deadline is May 13, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
Before you start planning your Challenge, make sure you can meet the following program requirements. You must have:
A plan for how your school will engage its campus network in outdoor activities (including a robust marketing and outreach strategy). Eligible outdoor activities include but are not limited to: hiking, biking, paddling, environmental stewardship, running, and more. Team sports such as football, baseball, and soccer are not eligible.
A student coordinator to help with campus outreach and logistics.
The first 50 schools to sign up for Campus Challenge and commit to going all in will receive:
$700 to activate their campus network (for planning, materials and student intern)
Access to a training webinar covering all Campus Challenge details, logistics, and best practices.
Access to a marketing toolkit that includes all communication materials like logos, email and social media templates, sample press releases, and more.
Campus Challenge sponsor giveaways and swag to use as prizes and incentives throughout the Challenge.
Selection and Notification Process
Participating schools will be announced May 17, 2017. Outdoor Nation has established the criteria for the Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge in partnership with all 2017 Challenge sponsors and partners.
